Terms of Service

These terms apply when you download and use MeetingRecorder (“the app”) or buy a MeetingRecorder Pro subscription. MeetingRecorder is made and sold by Aleksandr Mishin, a sole trader in Spain (“we”, “us”). Contact: [email protected].

1. What MeetingRecorder does

MeetingRecorder is a macOS app that records your microphone and your Mac’s system audio and saves the recording as a file on your Mac. Recording works offline. If you ask for a transcript or a summary, the audio is sent to our server and to the speech-to-text and AI providers listed in our Privacy Policy, and the result is saved back on your Mac.

2. Plans

  • Free. Unlimited local recording and 20 transcriptions a month, with AI summaries.
  • Pro. Unlimited transcriptions and summaries for $10 a month or $84 a year. In the EU and the UK this price includes VAT; in other countries tax is added at checkout where it applies. The final amount is shown before you pay.

“Unlimited” means normal personal and professional use by one person. If an account is used for automated bulk processing or shared by many people, we may contact you and limit it.

3. Payments are handled by Paddle

Our order process is conducted by our online reseller Paddle.com. Paddle.com is the Merchant of Record for all our orders. Paddle provides all customer service inquiries and handles returns. When you buy Pro, you also accept Paddle’s Buyer Terms.

4. Subscriptions, renewal and cancellation

  • Pro is billed in advance, every month or every year, and renews automatically until you cancel.
  • You can cancel at any time in the app (Settings → Manage Subscription opens your Paddle account), with the link in your Paddle receipt email, or by writing to [email protected]. Pro stays active until the end of the period you paid for.
  • A Pro subscription is linked to the Mac where you bought it. Write to us if you need it on another Mac.
  • If we change the price, we tell existing subscribers at least 30 days before the new price applies to them.
  • Refunds are covered in our Refund Policy.

5. Recording other people

MeetingRecorder does not join your calls and does not tell other participants that you are recording. You are responsible for following the recording and privacy laws that apply to you and to the people you record. In many places you must tell everyone and get their consent before you record. Do not use the app to record people secretly or unlawfully.

6. Your content

Your recordings, transcripts and summaries belong to you. You give us permission to process them only to provide the service, as described in our Privacy Policy.

7. Acceptable use

Do not use MeetingRecorder to break the law, to harm other people, or to attack, overload or reverse-engineer our servers. We may suspend access to the cloud features if you do.

8. Availability and changes

We work to keep the app and the cloud features available, but we cannot promise they will always work without errors or interruptions. Transcripts and summaries are made by AI and can contain mistakes. We may change or stop features; if we stop Pro, we refund the unused part of your subscription.

9. Liability

To the extent the law allows, our total liability to you is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under mandatory consumer law, including the laws of the country where you live.

10. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. The date at the top shows the latest version. If a change matters for paying users, we tell them in advance.

11. Law

These terms are governed by Spanish law. If you are a consumer in the EU, you also keep the protection of the mandatory laws of your country.
